Rev. Fr. Baptist Castelino has been a iconic figure for the Apostolic Ministry in the city of Kanpur. He has been the Principal of St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Ashoknagar, Kanpur for the past 26 years. He has been a very dynamic and effective and committed person in the field of witnesing Christ in and around Kanpur city. He has a man of great and deep faith and true conviction which has made him a great symbol of Christianity to the people in the city of Kanpur. He had a vision that every Catholic child must at least be educated till Class VIIIth and that he should be made to come to school whatever may be his economic or family conditions were. He was a great missionary who was very much down to earth in his life and in his works. 
Birthday of Rev. Fr. Baptist Castelino falls on June 21st. Some women and men from St. Francis Xavier’s Church had made a plan to visit him and wish him on his birthday. 
He has been a little unwell from few months. Thirty of the parishioners along with Fr. Sebastian Francis and Fr. George Madathikudyil, planned a visit and we reached Allahabad Nazareth Hospital at around 11.30 a.m. He was very much delighted to see so many persons from his former parish. He was truly happy to see each one of us.
He gave us a warm welcome and made us feel much at home. We sang for him, prayed with him and spent time with him talking, laughing and joking. We had a sumptuous meal which was prepared by Rev. Frs. Reginald D’Souza and Vipin D’Souza. Both these fathers of Nazareth Hospital were truly very courteous to help us out in getting the lunch for all of us and making all arrangements for our visit to Rev. Fr. Baptist Castelino. We returned back to Kanpur after a short visit to St. Pauls Religious articles shop in Allahabad. It was an awesome day spent in honour of Rev. Fr. Baptist Castelino. May the Almighty and all powerful God bless and heal Fr. Baptist from all adversity and infirmity.
